Fedor Konyukhov Turns 51

On December 12th, Fedor Konyukhov turned 51 years old. He planned on celebrating his birthday in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, but instead he celebrated it in Barbados where 12 days ago he arrived on his “URALAZ” rowboat.

	About the Project


	Crossing the ocean solo on a rowboat will be the first in Russian history of plying the ocean by rowing. This marathon is a continuation of the exceptional attempts on a rowboat by Evgeny Smurgis from Lipetsk, Russia, who was the first in the world to make an attempt at circumnavigating the world on a rowboat in 1993. Fedor Konyukhov is counting on becoming the first Russian to cross the ocean on a rowboat. The beginning of the expedition is scheduled for October 16, 2002.
